Brevard Voices at Overland Missions Revival Week in Zambia
VIERA, FL — Pastor Tim Franklin of Freedom Christian Center in Viera preached at Overland Missions Revival Week in Livingstone, Zambia over the weekend.
The twice-annual event gathers more than 300 missionaries from around the world "to be refilled and inspired to claim greater vision," according to contributing correspondent Danie'l Lopez. The week is designed to fuel the mission group's global outreach.
Overland Missions, headquartered in Cocoa, was founded in 1999 by Philip and Sharon Smethurst to reach remote people groups with the Gospel. Today, Overland has 198 full-time staff in 21 countries on five continents, with a goal of mobilizing 1,000 missionaries by 2030. Pastor Franklin and Freedom Christian Center have partnered with Overland for many years, including hosting its annual stateside Overland Missions Conference.
Lopez, a Brevard native and member of New Life Space Coast Church in Titusville, is currently enrolled in Overland’s Advanced Mission Training program, a three-month intensive in Zambia that combines classroom instruction with field outreach to remote villages.
