Gubernatorial Candidate Provides Remarks in Brevard, Emphasizes Christian Principles
MELBOURNE — Gubernatorial candidate James Fishback delivered remarks Sunday, Jan. 4, at a housewarming gathering for the Storms family of American Reformation Church in Melbourne. In a brief, three-minute address, Fishback emphasized Christian principles as central to his campaign.
Fishback, who comes from a background in investment management, entered the Republican primary for governor five weeks ago, announcing his candidacy Nov. 24. A fourth-generation Floridian, he has centered his campaign on affordable housing and expanding economic opportunity for Floridians while pledging to continue the policy legacy of Gov. Ron DeSantis.
"Conservatives talk about the fact that they're principled... the only principles that matter are Christian Principles" Fishback stated, expressing dissatisfaction with conservative establishment that claims Christ in word but not in deed.
The invitation to speak was extended by Jason Storms, national director of Operation Save America, and was attended by friends and ministry workers from across Brevard County, as well as individuals involved in Operation Save America’s national efforts. Before introducing Fishback, Storms thanked attendees for welcoming his family to Melbourne and led the group in singing the Doxology.
Operation Save America is regarded as a leading national pro-life organization and has been the subject of media coverage by outlets including Vanity Fair, NPR, and The Daily Beast. More information about the organization is available at operationsaveamerica.org.
