Juice N Java Opens Doors for Faith and Community in Cocoa Beach
COCOA BEACH — Scenes from Juice N Java Cafe today as families gathered for Free Pancake Day, where stacks of pancakes and live worship music filled the café with a celebratory spirit.
The Valentine’s Day community event featured free pancakes, toppings from local businesses, and live worship, drawing residents together for food, fellowship, and faith. For owners Austin and Valerie Sanchez, the morning reflected their broader vision of creating a space that serves the community by bringing people together.
“We’re giving back to the community because they have given so much to us,” Austin said.

The Sanchezes, who attend Saturday fellowships including Coastline in Indialantic and Divine Mercy in Merritt Island due to their busy café schedule, have owned the Cocoa Beach eatery for three years. From the beginning, they said they wanted to use their business as a place of community and ministry. In addition to special events like Pancake Day, Juice N Java has hosted a monthly worship night on the first Wednesday of every month from 7–8 p.m. for more than two years in partnership with Kimberly House of the Christian-based recovery ministry Sober Surfers.
“When they told me we could lead worship here I thought, God is so cool,” Kimberly said, recalling the early conversations that launched the gathering.

Juice N Java’s worship night may have helped pioneer the idea of restaurants opening their doors for public Christian worship in Brevard. Urban Prime Marketplace and Restaurant launched its monthly Faith Tuesday gathering in January, and Cibelli’s Pizza in Satellite Beach is preparing to host “Pizza N’ Praise” on the last Tuesday of each month in partnership with Philip Shibata of Calvary Chapel Eau Gallie.

Kimberly will also represent Sober Surfers next Saturday at the Moonlight Stroll at Erna Nixon Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
