Marching for Jesus 2025: “Be the Light” in Palm Bay
PALM BAY – Despite early forecasts of rain, believers from across Brevard gathered on Saturday, October 11, for the Marching for Jesus 2025 event hosted by Victory in Christ Jesus Ministries. Organized by Peggy Duffy, the second annual march filled Palm Bay’s streets with worship, prayer, and public expressions of faith.
The day began with praise songs at the church on Jupiter Boulevard before participants took to the sidewalks, stopping to pray over city landmarks including Palm Bay City Hall, the Franklin T. DeGroodt Library, the Fire Department, and the Police Department. At least nine local ministries were represented in the march, which sought to bless the city through unity and prayer.
“It was an exciting day in our march for Jesus Christ,” said Angela from Port St. John. “May the residents of Palm Bay be blessed with the Lord's grace & mercy, and thank you, Father God & Lord Jesus for providing blue skies and holding off the rain until the completion of our march.
From church members to curious onlookers, the response from the community was warm and faith-filled. Duffy recalled one driver pausing to cheer, shouting from her window, “We love Jesus too!” Honks of support were heard throughout the route as the crowd carried signs and sang praises.
“To God be the glory. The marching for Jesus yesterday was an amazing day it was filled with the blessings of God we had a great day doing the will of God. I would do it all over again,” said Delrose, a marcher and congregant at Victory in Christ Jesus Ministries.
Duffy, who is now preparing for the annual Bible Reading Marathon to be held at city halls throughout Brevard in the Spring, shared that the march even inspired at least one attendee to begin planning a similar event in her own church.
