One Minute Devotionals: "In Him," By Pastor Tony Hauck

"...having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. "— Ephesians 1:9-10

Jesus envisions a unity only He can make possible, because it can only exist in one place—in Him! This is not a unity of agreement, but of location.  We can only experience this unity if we spend time together in Him. 

I value corporate worship and prayer because it is the best way I know of to be together in Him.  It is consistently where my deepest relationships have been formed. When we bring our conflicts into this place, they wither and die.  

Let’s consider Jesus’ prayer, maybe even pray it ourselves, regularly.

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” — John 17:20-21

Lord, I pray that you build the church in Brevard county together into a spiritual house that You can dwell in. We want to be Your dwelling place!
