Rockledge High Students Gather in Prayer for National “See You at the Pole”
ROCKLEDGE, FL — Rockledge High School shared a powerful moment on its official Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon: dozens of students gathered around the flagpole in prayer for the annual See You at the Pole observance.

See You at the Pole is a nationwide initiative where students across America meet at their school flagpoles for prayer, scripture reading, and worship. The student-led movement, which began in Texas in 1990, now takes place annually at thousands of schools worldwide on the fourth Wednesday in September. Its mission is to empower young believers to pray for their classmates, teachers, communities, and nation.
At Rockledge High, the event appears to have been organized by the school’s First Priority Club. First Priority clubs exist across the U.S., with a mission to "To Take The Hope of Christ to Every Student," according to it's website. They function as student-led ministries with teacher sponsors, providing students with opportunities to pray, read Scripture, and encourage each other in faith during the school day. Rockledge High School's website indicated the club’s sponsors are faculty members Noelle Nickerson and Laura Baffa.

Notably, this year Rockledge High School chose to highlight the event on social media—a move that appears to be resonated with the community. Within five hours of the school's official Facebook page sharing the photo with the caption “Meet at the Pole 🇺🇸❤️” , the post has drawn over 700 likes, 41 comments, and 20 shares. Comments reflect both encouragement and curiosity from parents and community members.
The show of support online underscores how meaningful the event was, not just for the students who prayed but also for the wider community watching. As one commenter noted, “We would have loved to have known about it,” demonstrating the growing interest in student-led expressions of faith on campus.
From online comments, Rockledge High’s First Priority club appears to be thriving with strong student leaders, faculty sponsors, and support from local churches such as Grace Church and East Coast Christian Center.
