Melbourne City Council to recognize June as Faith, Family and Responsible Fatherhood Month

MELBOURNE — A significant moment recently took place before the Melbourne City Council and Mayor Paul Alfrey as a proclamation was formally presented recognizing the month of June as “Faith, Family and Responsible Fatherhood Month.”

The proclamation, originally created through Citizens Defending Freedom, was brought before city leadership by Michael Stover II, Executive Director of Valor Media, who stepped forward to present the initiative before both civic leaders and the community.

Following the presentation, Mayor Paul Alfrey directed the clerk to place the proclamation on the agenda for the first meeting in June, marking an encouraging moment of recognition for faith, family values and responsible fatherhood in the city of Melbourne.

Special appreciation is extended to Steve Maxwell, Robert Goodman, Seth Tweeddale, and William Brown for their support in promoting the initiative. Gratitude is also expressed to Mayor Alfrey and the City Council for their willingness to advance the proclamation in a spirit of community engagement.

The proclamation is expected to be formally issued by Mayor Paul Alfrey during the Melbourne City Council meeting Tuesday, June 9, at Melbourne City Hall, 900 E. Strawbridge Ave. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and the City Clerk’s Office has confirmed preparations are underway for the recognition.

Community members, local churches, leaders and families are encouraged to attend and arrive early to help fill the seats and show visible support for the moment of community recognition.
